本文研究了中国的剩余劳动力问题,以判断刘易斯模型的第二个阶段在中国是否已经到达。有关刘易斯转折点是否来临的判断对经济发展和收入分配具有深远的影响,但已有研究对此并没有得到一致的结论。本文利用中国居民收入分配课题组2002年和2007年的全国住户调查数据,考察了农民工的工资结构,分析了农民工流动的决定因素,并研究了潜在的农民工的规模和性质。同时,基于2005年1%人口抽样调查数据,本文预测了到2020年为止农村和城市的劳动力数量以及农民工数量。本文的研究表明,由于制度约束的存在,民工荒和农村剩余劳动力并存的现象,在现阶段以及未来的一段时期内仍有可能持续。
