This study deals with the attribute of calcium hydroxide, Ca(OH)2, in sulfur removaland its corresponding influence factors, and study the influence of metal oxides, e.g.t ZnO,Fe2O3, MnO2, V2O5, on the reactivity by examining the change in activation energy with different weight ratio of such additives in Ca(OH)2. Experimental results suggest that the addition of metal oxides may catalyze the reaction of SO2 with Ca(OH)2, and this catalytic effect becomes more pronounced with increasing metal oxides weight ratio.
