An overviewof what Europe has done in its integration will surely enlighten us in many ways on the issue of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area.This essay introduces the process of the European integration,advocates cooperation and reˉmoves the grudges among the memberships.In the coordination of the economic policies,China-ASEAN should borrowexperiˉence from EUand employ the mechanism of binding treaties to consolidate the achievements.For the East Asian countries,they must realize that the integration does not need confrontation but compromise.
