<正> 笔石枝(或简称枝stipe)的分枝有正分(dichotomous branching)和侧分(lateral branching)两种方式。正分枝是一个枝分成对称的两个枝,这两个枝和原来枝间所成的角度相等;侧分枝是分成的两个枝中,有一枝沿着原来枝的方向前进,等於原来枝的延长,另一枝则向不同的方向伸出。在正分枝的笔石里,各枝的地位相等;而在侧分枝的笔石里,则有主枝和侧枝的区别。
