国外中小学规模作用研究及其对我国的启示

摘要
国外关于中小学规模作用的大量研究表明,学校规模扩大所产生的经济效益和对课程设置的影响是有限的,且规模扩大并不一定能提高教育质量。学校规模与教育质量的关系常被学生所处的社会阶层和年级等中间变量所控制。主流观点认为,小规模学校更有利于提高低社会阶层和低年级学生的成绩。从学生在校的表现、纪律管理、辍学率、出勤率以及学生和父母对学校活动参与的角度,为数众多的经验研究也倾向于支持小规模学校。这些研究成果对于我国农村中小学"撤点并校"政策调整具有重要的启示和借鉴意义。
