<正>21世纪的经济将有赖于美国的科学技术和研究开发。我们曾消灭了小儿麻痹症,并初步解读了人类基因组。我希望,我们的国家能引领医学的新时代——这一时代将在合适的时间给疾病以合适的治疗。对那些患有囊泡纤维化的病人,我们能将他们转危为安,这个病在过去是不可逆转的。今天晚上,我要启动一个新的"精准医学计划(Precision Medicine Initiative)"。这一计划将使我们向着治愈诸如癌症和糖尿病这些顽症的目标迈进一步,并使我们所有人,都能获得自己的个体化信息。我们需要这些信息,使我们自己,我们的家人更加健康。
