Facing the 110 million hypertension population of whom 94% were uncontrolled in China.a scheme on the control of hypertension was proposed including:the scheme should be a national one focussing on the international health strategy“Health promotion for all in the 21 Century”.The scheme should be one of the major aims of the Chinese Government in controlling the most common and culpable diseases in China.The scheme should be an example of the new pattern of Bio\|Socio\|psychic medicine.A new network of organization should designed to execute the scheme.Health education on:“hypertension control”should be the core part of the scheme,medical workers and medical students should be educated first so that they can educate the patients and the public.Early detection and appropriate treatment of hypertension should be emphasized.Domestic antihypertensive drugs should be available with good quality,effectiveness,safety and an acceptable cost for the majority of the people.Adherence to medical research including good clinical trials and basic science research on the mechanism of hypertension on a genetic level should be encouraged.Hypertension should be controlled by the combined effort from the government officials,scientists and medical workers,and the mass public,China will win great benefit from the control of hypertension.\;[
