Joining of strontium titanate single crystals and their electrical characteristics

摘要
Bicrystals of SrTiO3 with tilted boundaries were prepared by a hot pressure method. The bicrystals exhibited nonlinear current-voltage characteristics. A molecular dynamics calculation was applied in order to understand the detailed interfacial structure, After the lattice relaxation, the tilted boundaries formed small periodic channels parallel to the interface, in which Ti ions were pyramidically surrounded by five oxygen ions.
