摘要
The fabrication of glassy carbon spools for utilization in fiber optic gyroscopes was discussed. A furfuryl alcohol resin was used in the fabrication of the spool. The samples of polymerized resin and glassy carbon were characterized using optical microscopy. Results showed that the utilization of glassy carbon for the fabrication of spools in fiber optic gyroscopes was feasible and adequate. The glassy carbon specific mass of 1.54 g/cm3 and its electrical resistivity of 62.8 μω m was suitable for fiber optic gyroscope application.
