摘要
This paper presents a set of explicit formulas for calculating the track extrapolation errors of charged particles by small-step iterations. Formulas are also given to calculate the projected track errors and Kalman filtering for planar detectors, which are located in the dense material. The result can be used to find matches of the hits to the track in the downstream detector, such as in a muon detector. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
