The vapor phase method was introduced for preparing anatase TiO2-coated multi-wall carbon nanotubes. A sample uniformly covered with a thick layer of TiO2 ranging from 20 to 50 nm was obtained. Compared with the commonly used hydrothermal system, this technique is of interest for easy control of a precursor containing Ti and a distinct coating process. We anticipate that this new hybrid carbon nanotubes material will find applications as photocatalysts and sensors.
