摘要：

A multiagent information customization system, MASCAD, that adopts the machine-learning paradigm to advise students by Web mining is described. It is pointed out that an intelligent assistant in the form of a computer program could improve and simplify the advising process and help the university introduce new technologies. The current version of the MASCAD focuses on learning how to perform the advising process and adopts a supervising learning solution. MASCAD is responsible for deciding which resources to invoke in solving the advising problem and also demonstrates the multiagent paradigm's suitability for dealing with information customization and personalization.
