Some regularities of nonlinear-optical limitation of laser radiation by fullerene-containing materials

摘要
It is shown theoretically and experimentally that fullerene-containing media can be used as a basis for creating fast-response, broad-band limiters in the 0.3-1-mum range with a response time of 10(-8)-10(-9) sec and a dynamic range greater than 10(3) when the transmittance of a low-intensity signal is T > 50%. It is established that fullerene-containing solutions have a different optical-limitation mechanism than do solid and polymeric media. (C) 2001 The Optical Society of America.
