Transport and magnetic studies on CeNiGe3 compound

摘要
We report DC magnetization, resistivity, and magnetoresistance studies on the compound CeNiCe3, which is found to crystallize in the cubic Yb3Rh4Sn13-type structure with some Ce-Ge disorder. It orders antiferromagnetically below 4.2 K. Low field magnetization studies indicate differences between zero-field-cooled and field-cooled curves suggesting spin-glass type of magnetic ordering. Below 4.2 K, magnetization and magnetoresistance show metamagnetic behaviour. In the paramagnetic state the DC magnetic susceptibility follows Curie-Wiess behavior between 50 and 300 K. The combined influence of Kondo and crystal field effects describe the resistivity behavior.
