Magnetism of hexagonal 4d transition metal monolayers

摘要
Using the tight-binding linear-muffin-tin-orbitals method we have calculated the spin-polarized electronic structure of 4d transition metal monolayers which have the same hexagonal structure as pseudomorphically adsorbed ones on graphite (0 0 0 1). In the 4d series, only Ru and Rh are found to be ferromagnetic with large magnetic moments of 1.9 and 1.2 mu(B), respectively. Comparison with monolayers in the square structure is made.
