Nonlinear optical anisotropy in poly[3-(6-tetrahydropyraniloxyhexyl)]-2,5-thienylene Langmuir Blodgett films

摘要
The nonlinear optical response of Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films of poly[3-(6-tetrahydropyraniloxyhexyl)]-2, thienylene are investigated using degenerate four wave mixing techniques. A large third order nonlinear coefficient, chi((3)) similar to 10(-8) esu with subpicosecond response was observed. The large value of chi((3)) is attributed to the longer conjugation length and larger packing density of the LB films.
