A simple and analytical structure factor for the hard-disc fluid

We present an analytical expression for the static structure factor of hard-disc fluids by using the density-density response function in the mean-field-type approximation in which the effective potential between the particles is written in terms of the pair correlation function as proposed by Singwi, Tosi, Land and Sjolander. The structure factor exhibits the main features of the hard-disc system as compared with other theories and computer simulations at low and intermediate values of the packing fraction.
