摘要
Enhanced and highly asymmetric giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) spectra, measured in pieces of ribbons of an amorphous alloy under an applied de bias-electrical current, are reported. The asymmetry depends on the magnitude of the de bias-current and on its relative direction to the de applied magnetic field. This novel effect allows one to determine both the magnitude and the direction of a magnetic field from a magnetoimpedance data. A theoretical model, used to simulate the enhancement and the asymmetry, is also discussed.
