摘要
A study was conducted to highlight the latest contributions devoted to 3D metallocryptands and metallocages for guest molecules, along with weakly coordinated anions with emphasis on metal anion interaction. The scope of the study was limited to nanocavities without a catalyst that performed some unusual chemical reactions as a result of preorganization of reactive substrates and supramolecular systems where catalysts were sequestrated within the cavities of nanocapsules to form nanoreactors that exhibited interesting catalytic properties in supramolecular media. Host guest interactions represented one of the most important aspects of contemporary supramolecular chemistry. A wide range of coordination assemblies were prepared including metallomacrocycles, triangles, rectangles, polygons, and metallocryptands and 3D tetrahedral and octahedral nanocages to conduct the investigations.
