A TLD-based few-channel spectrometer for X ray fields with high fluence rates

摘要
A few-channel photon spectrometer has been developed which consists of a stack of metallic filters with increasing cut-off energies interspersed with thermoluminescence detectors. From the reading of the detectors the spectral fluence can be determined by an unfolding procedure. The spectrometer can be used in pulsed radiation fields with extremely high momentary values of the fluence rate and photon energies between 10 keV and 1 MeV. Design, calibration and a first application of the spectrometer are described.
