摘要
We review recent methods for determining mortality rates in a closed population from stage population data. These methods have been applied to copepod populations in enclosures and may be applicable to copepods in ''nearly closed'' situations such as fjords. We also review the ''inverse problem'' approach to mortality estimation in which the validity of some particular dynamic model is assumed, and the aim is to determine time- and stage-dependent mortality rates for which the measured population data would be good approximations to solutions of the dynamic equations.
