摘要
Different dioctahedral and trioctahedral smectites were treated with OH-Cr solutions, OH-Cr smectites were analyzed after thermal treatment up to 1000 degrees C. The OH-Cr solutions were prepared using 0.1 M chromium nitrate and 0.2 N NaOH hydrolyzed at 60 degrees C for one day. The OH-Cr smectites were characterized by differential thermal analyses and X-ray diffraction. The Cr2O3 appeared at around 420 degrees C and was present together with transformation smectite phases throughout all temperature ranges studied (up to 1000 degrees C). Phases at high temperature owing to the exchangeable cations in original smectites were not present when smectites were treated with OH-Cr solutions.
