(Figure Presented) The long and the short of it: A short oligonucleotide is designed to self-assemble into micrometer-long nanotubes, which further serve as templates to fabricate metallic nanowires. This study addresses the question: what is the minimum number of DNA strands that are required for self-assembly of well-defined DNA nanostructures? © 2006 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
