We report a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensor for the measurement of static and dynamic measurands (e.g. strain and temperature). Initial experiments demonstrated detection resolutions of similar to2.6 muepsilon and similar to7 nepsilon/(Hz)(1/2) for static and dynamic strain measurements respectively.
