摘要
Intensive lightning strikes and high rainfall were assumed to increase atmospheric deposition of nitrogen (N) in the southern and eastern coastal regions of Florida. The objective of this study was to examine the effects of lightning strikes on deposition of NO3-N. Bulk precipitation was collected and analyzed for NO3--N from September 1994 to August 1995. The lightning strikes significantly increased NO3-N deposition in rainwater. Annual contribution of NO3-N through precipitation was 3.8 kg N ha(-1). Summer season (June-October) accounted for about 53% of total annual N deposition.
