摘要
The dynamic response of a close-celled Al foam was examined in compression at a strain rate 2.5×103/s. The mechanical properties of the metallic foam were also studied at a quasi-strain rate of 1×10-3/s. The yield stress of the Al foam exhibited a remarkable strain rate sensitivity, as compared to a polystyrene foam which showed only a weak dependence. The absorption energy per unit volume of the Al foam at the dynamic strain rate 2.5×103/s was greater than that at the quasi-strain rate of 1×10-3/s.
