Polymer microparticles fabricated by soft lithography

摘要
The fabrication and printing of isolated polymer microfeatures on a substrate coated with a sacrificial layer through soft lithography using stamps with protruding and recessed features were investigated. Polypropyl methacrylate (PPMA) was used in the study to demonstrate the particle fabrication and characterization. It was found that the stamp and the microparticles were characterized by optical microscopes and optical profilers. The results show that the polymer features had thin-film structure and well-defined lateral geometries and were released as free microparticles by dissolving the sacrificial layer in water.
