The electrical conductivity of molten Li2CO3-K2CO3 and Li2CO3-Na2CO3 containing alkaline earth (Ca, Sr and Ba) carbonates

摘要
Electrical conductivity of molten Li2CO3-K2CO3 and Li2CO3-Na2CO3 containing alkaline earth (Ca, Sr and Ba) carbonates are measured using ac two probes technique. Some compositions in molten Li2CO3-Na2CO3-alkaline earth systems show higher electrical conductivity than that of conventional molten Li2CO3-K2CO3 (62:38 mol%) electrolyte. The addition of alkaline earth carbonates to molten Li2CO3-K2CO3 and Li2CO3-Na2CO3 results in linear decrease of electrical conductivity with increase of the mole fraction of the additives. There is not so much difference among the alkaline earth carbonates in the effect of decreasing electrical conductivity at the same content of addition.
