5-Endo-dig iodocyclisation of the homopropargylic sulfonamide 10 gives the iodo-dihydropyrrole 11; subsequent 5-exo-trig radical cyclisation of the derived iodopyrrole 12 followed by allylic oxidation then delivers the bicyclic core 2 of Roseophilin 1.
