Synthesis and properties of polypyrrole derivatives with liquid crystalline substituents

摘要
3- or N-Substituted liquid crystalline pyrroles with a cyclohexylphenyl or a biphenyl as a mesogenic core were synthesized and polymerized giving soluble and fusible polypyrroles. In case of poly(3- or N-substituted pyrrole)s, some mesophases were observed by polarization microscopy. The cast films of poly(3-substituted pyrrole)s showed electrical conductivities of 10(-4)-10(-7) Scm(-1) upon iodine doping.
