摘要
End users require that fieldbus devices from multiple suppliers interoperate on a single fieldbus without custom programming or special interfaces. To meet this requirement fieldbus devices must be interoperable at the physical interface to the fieldbus, within the communications protocol, and at the user application within the device. This paper describes a fieldbus solution that meets the user requirements for interoperability and functionality. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd.
