Magnetic phase diagram of untwinned YBa2Cu3Oy single crystals annealed in high pressure oxygen atmosphere

Magnetization and resistivity for untwinned YBa2Cu3Oy single crystals with controlled oxygen contents were measured at high fields (H parallel to c) up to 27 T. With increasing the oxygen content above the optimum condition, the superconducting transition temperature T-c changed from similar or equal to 93 K to similar or equal to 88 K and the hysteresis width of the magnetization M(H) curve decreased. The resistivity measurement for the heavily overdoped sample showed a discontinuous jump which results from the first-order vortex lattice melting transition (VMLT) even at 26 T. The result indicates that the vortex pinning is strongly reduced for heavily overdoped sample and the oxygen vacancy has great influence on its phase diagram in untwinned YBa2Cu3Oy.
