摘要
The monodisperse polyethylene glycol (PEG) derivative microgels were synthesized and attached with vinyl groups. The copolymerization of poly(ethylene glycol)ethyl ether methacrylate, poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate, and poly(ethylene glycol) acrylate was carried out in a three-necked flask equipped with stirrer and a nitrogen feed. The solution was purged with nitrogen gas for 40 minutes at 70 °C. Ammonium persulfate was added to initiate the emulsion copolymerization. The reaction lasted for 12 hour under the nitrogen atmosphere. The microgels were purified through a dialysis tube against frequent changes of stirring water for 1 week at room temperature. It was concluded that using PEG derivative particles as both colloidal ordered array and cross-linkers can provide not only crystal structures that diffract light but also enhances the mechanical properties of the resultant hydrogels.
