Crystal growth, electrical, and magnetic properties of niobium phosphate bronze: Na2+xP4Nb6O26

摘要
Large single crystals of the bronze Na2+xP4Nb6O26 were grown by chemical vapor transport technique with either NH4Cl or NaCl as the transporting agent. The directional electrical transport properties along the three orthorhombic crystallographic axes show anisotropic semiconducting behavior with the activation energies of 0.13, 0.15, and 0.12 eV for E(a), E(b), and E(c), respectively. Magnetic susceptibility measurements indicate Curie-Weiss behavior with mu(eff) = 1.14 mu(B)/Nb4+. (C) 1996 Academic Press, Inc.
