Low temperature magnetic properties of the geometrically frustrated pyrochlores Tb2Ti2O7, Gd2Ti2O7, and Gd2Sn2O7

摘要
The low temperature static magnetic susceptibility of the magnetically frustrated pyrochlore Tb2Ti2O7 exhibits an ordering feature at approximately 70 mK, with substantial history dependence below that temperature. suggestive of a spin glass ground state. Static susceptibilities of the isostructural but magnetically more isotropic compounds Gd2Ti2O7 and Gd2Sn2O7 show no observable history dependence below their ordering features, both in the vicinity of 1 K, consistent with long range magnetic order.
