摘要
Microstructure and magnetization process of epitaxial FePt (0 0 1) thin films are investigated. The films have a granular structure for the thickness below about 300 Angstrom. The 120 Angstrom thick film exhibits a huge coercive force of 54 kOe at room temperature, but the loop does not show a good square shape. The coexistence of single-domain small particles, multi-domain large particles and a little fault in epitaxial growth are responsible for the characteristic magnetization curve.
