Resonant near-sound reorientation of the domain wall plane in yttrium orthoferrite

The dynamic orientation of the moving domain wall statically inclined at an angle of about 50 degrees to the orthoferrite plate surface cut perpendicular to the optical axis, was investigated. It is shown that in the process of increasing the domain wall velocity, a very sharp decrease of the visible thickness of the DW occurs near the transversal sound velocity. The moving domain wall changes its plane orientation and comes almost perpendicular to the plate. This effect may be caused by dynamic minimization of the domain wall energy.
