摘要
In reality, all 10 hypotheses discussed in this paper might actually be correct to a greater or lesser extent. As an be seen from each section, each one of the four general theories can be used to explain either a decrease or increase in hydraulic conductivity. Further, because natural soils are a mixture of components, several of these interactions may be occurring simultaneously, with the net observed effect covering the spectrum from a significant decrease, to no change, to an increase in hydraulic conductivity. These interactions may also take place on different time and spatial scales, potentially resulting in fluctuations in hydraulic conductivity over time.
