Fourier transform infrared and Fourier transform Raman investigation of alkylammonium hexachloroantimonates

摘要
The FT-IR spectra (7000-50 cm(-1)) and the Raman spectra (3500-70 cm(-1)) of (CH3)(4)NSbCl6 (TMASbCl(6)), (C2H5)(4)NSbCl6 (TEASbCl(6)) and (CH3)(2)NH2SbCl6 (DMASbCl(6)) are investigated at 295 K. The vibrational data suggest that the distortion of the octahedral symmetry of SbCl6- increases in the order TMASbCl(6) < TEASbCl(6) < DMASbCl(6). The splittings of the rocking modes of the NH2+ and CH3 groups and of the deformation mode of the NH2+ group in DMASbCl(6) suggest that even at 295 K the rotational motions are frozen and these spectroscopic data are consistent with the absence of low temperature phase transition.
