摘要：

Necrotizing fasciitis is one of the most serious infections in the clinical arena. A delay in diagnosis leads to very high morbidity and mortality rates. The emergence of toxic-shock strains of Streptococcus makes it necessary to make a diagnosis and institute antibiotics and surgical intervention rapidly.
