Selectivity, activity and durability:: Homogenic catalysis in the chemical industry

As was shown by the preceeding examples, homogeneous catalysis has found its firm position in the chemical industry. Complementing heterogeneous catalysis, valuable C-C bond forming reactions such as oligomerisation of olefins, hydroformylation, carbonylation or hydrocyanation can be performed. In fine chemicals, enantioselective syntheses, especially hydrogenations, as well as coupling reactions have found their place and further applications are being developed.
