摘要：

The principle of the laser sintering process as applied to stainless steel powder for rapid prototyping is discussed. The work attempts to present and explain the process modelling concept with respect to potential analytical/empirical relationships between the input and output parameters. It considers aspects related to process behaviour, material characteristics, laser parameters and product accuracy. A comprehensive experimental set-up with empirical results is presented.
