摘要
Well-aligned, micron-sized, nanotube-containing carbon fibers have been grown on alumina substrates using a chemical vapor deposition (CVD) technique. Individual single carbon nanotubes supported by micron-sized carbon fibers were obtained by fracturing the nanotube-containing fibers. The nanotubes thus obtained appear as the tips of carbon fibers, and they can be easily handled and manipulated for property measurements.
