Vapor-liquid equilibrium data and flooding point measurements of the mixture carbon dioxide plus orange peel oil

The fractionation of monoterpene hydrocarbons and oxygenated aroma components from citrus oil was studied for CO2 + orange peel oil mixtures. Phase equilibrium and density measurements as well as countercurrent column experiments were carried out at 323, 333, and 343 K in a pressure range from 7 to 13 MPa. Mutual solubilities of CO2 and orange peel oil are in good agreement with literature data for the binary mixture CO2 + limonene. Maximum cross-flow capacities were determined by means of flooding point measurements to enable a preliminary design study with respect to minimum inner diameter of a countercurrent column.
