Field weathering of plywood panels bonded with UF adhesives and low proportions of melamine salts

The field weathering tests of plywood panels bonded with UF adhesives and low proportions of melamine salts were discussed. The samples were tested for tensile strength before and after weather exposure. The results showed that plywood panels prepared just by addition of melamine salts directly to a UF resin only at the glue mix stage are capable of yielding comparable or better field weathering results than commercial MUF resins of much higher melamine content.
