Applicantas for IT managers position in Fortune 500 companies need specific information about the skills required for employment, advancement, and professional accomplishment. The skills possessed by IT managers in an organization reflect the degree to which the organization can transform its IT investment into competitive advantage and new strategic opportunities. The job ads of Fortune 500 companies on websites, indicate that IT job applicants with high school diplomas or associate's degrees can hardly expect to become IT managers in these companies. Companies listed in the Fortune 500 do not seem to appreciate the value of certification for their IT managers. The potential IT managers in these companies are required to possess technical skills and system skills, as well as business skills.
