Study and analysis on cutting forces of oblique cutting of wood

The objective of the experiments in this paper is to find out the relationship between cutting forces and oblique angles of cutting edge. The experiment consists of 90 degrees-0 degrees and 0 degrees-90 degrees oblique cutting situations. Each type of experiment includes two wood species and two kinds of chip thickness. As a result of the experiments, the influences of oblique angle and other factors on cutting forces were revealed. The reasons for cutting forces variations were summarized. On the basis of this, we especially conducted theoretical analyses on the rules of cutting forces change.
