Immobilization of type I collagen on the alloy Ti6A14V

摘要
A concept was developed to modify the surface of implants with type I collagen. Immobilization of collagen was carried out in the collagen solution with final concentration of 0.25 mg/ml. A commercially-available implant material, Ti6A14V (ASTM F136), was used for the immobilization of collagen. The study on the immobilization of collagen out from solutions showed that collagen molecules and/or filaments once adsorbed onto the titanium surface are not able to complete their assembly to native-banded fibrils in that solution.
