This report aims to provide a focused, updated review of the two newest inhalation anesthetics, sevoflurane (Ultane, Abbott Laboratories) and desflurane (Suprane(R), Baxter Healthcare), and their use in managing equine patients. For comparison, pertinent information on isoflurane and occasionally halothane will also be provided.
