摘要
A majority of Americans have used marijuana, most while they were adolescents. Similar to other addictive drugs, marijuana activates the brain's reward pathway, has a characteristic withdrawal syndrome, and can result in long-term dependence. Daily use results in cognitive impairment. More work is needed to create effective prevention and treatment programs for adolescents.
